Broward Aware! Protecting OUR Children

Powered by the Children’s Service Council of Broward County, Broward AWARE! Protecting Our Children leverages public awareness assets from dozens of agencies that work to help prevent child abuse and neglect to ensure the entire community is aware of the resources that can keep children happy, healthy and nurtured. Partners include Children’s Services Council of Broward County, Department of Children and Families, ChildNet, Florida Dept. of Health in Broward County, Broward Sheriff’s Office, Broward County Parks and Recreation, Healthy Mothers Healthy Babies, Healthy Families, Nancy J. Cotterman Center, Broward County Human Trafficking Coalition, HANDY Inc., Marine Industry Cares Foundation, HandsOn Broward, YMCA of Broward County, Guardian ad Litem, Broward County Public Schools, The Starting Place, Children’s Diagnostics and Treatment Center, Swim Central, the SWIMS Foundation, 2-1-1 Broward, ARC Broward, Community Access Center, Mental Health Association, No More Tears and more.

SWIMS Foundation serves as the fiscal agent for Broward AWARE! The campaign incorporates local educational workshops, along with other events and culminates each year in April during child abuse prevention month. Issues such as drowning prevention, unsafe sleeping conditions, bullying, physical abuse and sexual abuse are part of the focus of the campaign.
